Political science’s Kathryn Lavelle speaks about the Arctic resource extraction industry during global conference

Kathryn Lavelle, the Ellen and Dixon Long professor of world affairs, discussed industrial interests in Arctic natural resources during a conference on “The Dynamics of a Changing Arctic,” hosted by the Royal Danish Foreign Policy Society.

In August, Lavelle presented her lecture, titled “Opportunities and Challenges Encountered by the Maritime and Resource Extraction Industry in the Arctic,” as part of the conference’s panel on environmental interests in the Arctic.
