Karen Beckwith, the Flora Stone Mather Professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, wrote about the gender gap in voter turnout in an article titled “Gender gap dooms Trump” for philly.com.

In her commentary, Beckwith broke down the percentage of female voters compared to males, and gave even further breakdowns by race and ethnicity.

She explained how women tend to vote for Democrats, and with Donald Trump as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, it could be difficult for the GOP to garner a majority of women’s votes.
