Karen Beckwith, the Flora Stone Mather Professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, wrote about the chance for two women running on the same ticket for the nation’s top two elective offices.
Her article, titled “Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren, together?” appeared in The Detroit News.
She wrote about whether voters would likely support a ticket with presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Sen. Elizabeth Warren as her vice presidential running mate.
Beckwith explained that a candidate’s sex often does not factor into a voter’s decision and women tend to do as well as men once nominated.
