Spectrum 1: Justin Buchler, an associate professor of political science in the College of Arts and Sciences, commented on the long-standing notion that Ohio is a presidential election bellwether. “Winning Ohio isn’t really anything special,” said Buchler. “Whichever candidate tends to win the election overall will tend to win Ohio because it is demographically similar to the country.”
