A poetry book by English department lecturer Brad Ricca was recently named the best poetry debut in Cleveland Magazine’s Best of Cleveland awards. The book, American Mastadon, is “the sort of poetry that makes you want to come through it over and over, hoping to further decipher the clues left along the way,” the magazine’s editors wrote.
The book previously won the St. Lawrence Book Award for an unpublished collection of poems or short stories.
