Xuan Gao, assistant professor in the Department of Physics, recently received the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from the International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers. This award recognizes a young physicist/astronomer of Chinese ethnicity working in North America, Europe or other regions outside Asia to encourage contributions in physics/astronomy.
Gao was one of two individuals selected for the award, which carries a cash price of $2,000.
