Physics’ Cyrus Taylor comments on global record for warmth in 2024

Northeast Ohio’s 2024 weather remained mild as global temperatures reached new high

Michelson Professor in Physics at the College of Arts and Sciences, said that while 2024 set a global record for warmth, Northeast Ohio fared better than most regions, with milder impacts such as longer growing seasons and warmer winters. Still, he offered a warning about the urgency of reducing emissions: “We really need to face up to this reality.”
