Sunday marked a milestone for members of the Case Western Reserve University Class of 2027: move-in day. As they unloaded suitcases, boxes and bins of items from home, orientation leaders, Spartie and other volunteers greeted them and helped lighten the loads.

Now, more than 1,600 first-year and transfer students are taking part in Discover Week, seven days of programming developed by the Office of First-Year Experience and Family Programming to welcome and acclimate students to the Case Western Reserve community.

The week includes opportunities for students to connect with each other, their residence hall communities, orientation leaders and faculty advisors, while also exploring Cleveland and learning about resources and student organizations at Case Western Reserve.

Today, they’ll gather at 4 p.m. in Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center for the University Welcome before parting from their families and heading to exciting evening events, including the New Student BBQ in Thwing Center and CWRU Tradition on DiSanto Field.
