PhD student’s paper wins first place in national polymer research award competition

A paper by PhD student Mohamed Baqar recently won first place in the third annual Excellence in Thermoset Polymer Research Awards.

Baqar, a doctoral student in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Macromolecular Science and Engineering, won for his paper, “Methylol-Functional Benzoxazines: Novel Precursors for Phenolic Thermoset Polymers.”

Baqar will present his paper at the Thermoset Resin Formulators Association’s 10th annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 28–30.
