Redbook: Jill Baley, professor of pediatrics, talked about a new term, “Pregobesity,” that refers to the extremely dangerous health consequences obese mothers pass down to their children. “When you’re overweight or obese, your body churns out more insulin, which in turn causes inflammation that could possibly affect your baby’s cognitive development,” she said.
