“Pathfinders & Mapmakers—Responses to the COVID Pandemic in Israel and Cleveland”

All members of the campus community are invited to a joint round table discussion titled “Pathfinders & Mapmakers—Responses to the COVID Pandemic in Israel and Cleveland.” Hosted by Case Western Reserve University entities and the Myers JDC Brookdale Institute, Israel’s leading center for applied social research, this session will take place Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m.

The roundtable will be moderated by David Fleshler, vice provost for international affairs at CWRU, and the presenters will be:

  • Myers JDC Brookdale Institute’s Michael Hartal (executive director) and Bruce Rosen (director of the Smokler Center for Health Policy Research);
  • CWRU’s Daniel Tisch (director of the Master of Public Health Program), Andrew Curtis (co-director of the GIS Health & Hazards Lab), and Peter Zimmerman (member of the Center for Global Health and Diseases); and,
  • City of Cleveland Interim Director of Public Health Brian Kimball.

Panelists will present on and discuss various responses to and lessons learned in Israel and in Cleveland during the COVID pandemic.

The roundtable is a collaboration between Myers JDC Brookdale, the CWRU Center for International Affairs, School of Medicine and Jack Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, and the Cuyahoga County Department of Health and Human Services.
