The Social Justice Institute and Kappa Alpha Theta will host “Pasta for CASA: Empathy and Action for Youth Impacted by Foster Care,” a dinner to raise money for court appointed special advocates.
The dinner will be held Wednesday, March 1, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. in the Thwing Center ballroom.
Attendees will hear personal stories of resilience from local activist Kevinee Gilmore and bestselling author Paula McLain.
The event will feature a discussion on why foster care is a social justice issue and why LGBT youth face additional barriers in the foster care system.
The suggested contribution is $3 to $5, but the event is open to all, regardless of the ability to pay.
Reservations are requested to socialjustice@case.edu.
Co-sponsors of the event are the LGBT Center; Center for Civic Engagement and Learning; Schubert Center for Child Studies; Family Equity Committee; Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences; and the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland.
