Openings available for Shipwreck Camp 2014

The Leonard Gelfand STEM Center still has openings for Shipwreck Camp 2014, which is open to 12- to 15-year-old students. The two-week camp runs weekdays, July 14 -25, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

As part of the program, campers meet expert shipwreck researchers and the lone survivor of the SS Daniel Morrell, a cargo carrier lost in Lake Huron. Field trips and an introduction to scuba are included in the experience, as well as an opportunity to build an ROV (remotely operated vehicle).

The program is $525, including daily lunch and a $25 non-refundable application fee.
