Parents: Bring daughters to CWRU, OneCommunity’s technology and innovation Olympiad

OneCommunity, Case Western Reserve University and BlueBridge Networks will give local girls a chance to bring forth their ideas on technology and innovation and collaborate. This inaugural, free event taking place March 13 and 14 will allow young women from ages 13 to 18 to brainstorm and collaborate on their ideas, and will provide an opportunity to win local prizes. At this Olympiad, they will learn more about technology, as well as meet each other and other women who are shaping the future.

Cisco’s Internet Business Solutions Group predicts some 25 billion devices will be connected by 2015, and 50 billion by 2020. To that end, Cisco is holding the “IoT World Forum Young Women’s Innovation Grand Challenge.” In order to raise awareness of the Global Competition, OneCommunity, CWRU and other community partners want to give local girls a chance to bring forth their ideas, and collaborate, at the local level in the Cleveland Young Women’s IoT Innovation Olympiad.

The Olympiad will offer cash prizes: $1,000 for first place, $500 for second prize, $250 for third place and $250 for four place.

The event will take place in Nord Hall. Space is limited, so registration is required.
