Office of Multicultural Affairs’ Janée Kelly shares the significance of scholarship fund created by African American Society

‘Continue to fight:’ Cleveland teen’s murder remains unsolved 6 years later

WJWJanée Kelly, director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, discussed a scholarship fund the university’s African American Society created in honor of Michael Chappman, a local teen who was murdered in 2017 in a neighborhood drive-by shooting. “It is really tragic and that’s why the scholarship exists. To be able to make that dream come true for other students,” she said. “Since its inception, we’ve given away this scholarship to five graduating high school seniors going to the college of their choice.”
