The Office of Educational Services for Students (ESS) will offer a graduate spoken English seminar titled “Academic Communities and Culture,” a two-week seminar designed to help incoming graduate students enhance spoken English skills.
The program is designed to support students in enhancing skills in the following areas:
- spoken English skills including pronunciation and fluency
- listening skills for academic purposes
- presentation skills
- vocabulary and idioms
- inter-cultural communication skills
- academic/classroom culture
Classes will meet weekdays from noon to 3 p.m., beginning Monday, Aug. 3 and ending Friday, Aug. 14.
The seminar is fee-based. Visit the ESS office in Sears Building, Room 470 to register; the deadline for registration is July 1.
