Nursing’s Joyce Fitzpatrick participates in podcast discussion on the future of the nursing profession

Joyce Fitzpatrick, the Elizabeth Brooks Ford Professor of Nursing and Distinguished University Professor, recently discussed challenges facing the nursing profession in an episode of the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s podcast titled “The future of the clinical workforce.”

Fitzpatrick talked with Robyn Begley, CEO of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and the chief nursing officer for the American Hospital Association.

Their discussion addressed shortages of new nurses and educators to prepare them, early retirement of Baby Boomers due to the pandemic and the effect burnout is having on the industry as a whole.
