Joachim Voss, the Independence Foundation Professor of Nursing Education and PhD program director at Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, has accepted a position as associate dean for academic programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing in Omaha beginning March 1.

Voss joined Case Western Reserve in 2015 as director of the Hirsh Center for Evidence-Based Practice and was tasked with rebuilding the academic, clinical and educational activities of the center. He also served as chair of the school’s diversity, equity and inclusion committee.

He was named the PhD program director in 2019 and went on to chair the university’s faculty senate—representing over 4,000 faculty members—during the COVID-19 pandemic. Voss was also a member of the President’s Council Strategic Planning Committee.

In 2021, Voss joined the inaugural cohort of Coldiron Senior Nurse Executive fellows—an executive nurse leadership program at the School of Nursing’s Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy—and was nominated for the university’s John S. Diekhoff Award for Graduate Mentoring.
