Of the 4.7 million nurses in the United States, only 3,000 hold the distinction of membership in the American Academy of Nursing (AAN), an organization representing the field’s most accomplished leaders in policy, research, administration, practice, and academia.
More selective still is the academy’s designation of Living Legend—and Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing’s Faye Gary is joining these ranks. A Distinguished University Professor, Gary is one of five nurse leaders who will be recognized by the AAN this fall.
