Ann S. Williams, research associate in the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, presented a research report at the International Diabetes Federation meeting in Dubai on Dec. 7. The presentation was based on her IDF-funded research project, “Nonvisual Foot Inspection for People with Visual Impairment.”
Williams’ technique helps people with visual impairments and diabetes check their feet, using a systematic method that includes use of their hands, sense of touch and sense of smell.
