Nursing school to give away cupcakes tomorrow in recognition of National Midwifery Week

For the third straight year, the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University is celebrating National Midwifery Week by giving away 1,000 mini cupcakes—one for every 10 babies born annually into the hands of certified nurse midwives in Ohio.

The event starts at Thursday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Binary Walkway. Cupcakes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

National Midwifery Week was created by the American College of Nurse-Midwives to celebrate and recognize midwives and midwife-led care.

The 1,000 mini cupcakes, supplied by Main Street Cupcakes in Rocky River, are made from wedding cake batter with vanilla pink and blue frosting and pink and blue sprinkles.
