Nursing school receives Innovations in Professional Nursing Education award

School of NursingThe Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing received the Innovations in Professional Nursing Education award from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

The nursing school won the award in the category of Academic Health Centers, and it was given in recognition of a number of the nursing school’s initiatives to focus on quality and safety, including its hosting of the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) Institute, its upgraded curriculum, its interprofessional programming and its new massive online open course (MOOC), titled “Take the Lead on Health Care Quality Improvement.”

This award recognizes the outstanding work of AACN member schools to re-envision traditional models for nursing education and lead programmatic change. Innovation awards, including a monetary prize of $1,000.
