“Nurse Leaders Influencing Health Policy: A Global Perspective”

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy for a presentation featuring Sophia Chan, a trailblazing leader in public health. 

Chan will present “Nurse Leaders Influencing Health Policy: A Global Perspective” Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 5 p.m. in Samson Pavilion, Room 199A/B.

As the senior advisor to the President’s Office at the University of Hong Kong and former under secretary and secretary for food and health, Chan has played a pivotal role in shaping health policies, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her groundbreaking initiatives, including District Health Centers and a Children’s Hospital, have significantly impacted community health. With more than 240 peer-reviewed publications and numerous prestigious awards, she is a distinguished nurse-scientist whose insights are invaluable for anyone passionate about nursing and public health.
