Nominations are open for two awards that recognize outstanding writing instruction: The Jessica Melton Perry Award for Distinguished Teaching in Disciplinary/Professional Writing and the SAGES Excellence in Writing Instruction Award.
The Jessica Melton Perry Award for Distinguished Teaching in Disciplinary/Professional Writing draws attention to faculty instruction and mentoring that enables Case Western Reserve University students to acquire the necessary academic and professional writing skills for their chosen career paths. Regular faculty members in any school or department are eligible to be nominated; 1-page nomination letters are due Monday, April 2. The SAGES Excellence in Writing Instruction Award recognizes an instructor in the SAGES program who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to and success in teaching academic writing to Case Western Reserve undergraduates. Nominees may be at any rank, from graduate student writing instructor through tenured full professor, but they must have provided substantial writing instruction as part of one or more SAGES seminars during academic year 2011-12.
