Next UCITE session to address recent security issue, countermeasures being taken

Chief Information Security Officer Tom Siu will lead the next University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE) session, “Announcing the Death of Passwords.” The session will address the recent security incident that affected several faculty members.

The session will take place Thursday, Oct. 16, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Herrick Room, located on the ground floor of the Allen Memorial Medical Library building (at the corner of Euclid and Adelbert).

Siu will provide a brief overview of the incident and describe the countermeasures taken by the university to mitigate this risk.  The session will include a demonstration of the DuoSecurity multi factor authentication system, currently available to all users.
