Discuss nature of ethics throughout history at Nov. 5 Ethics Table

The next Ethics Table brown bag lunch will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Thwing Center’s Cleveland Room.

At the session, attendees will critically examine the nature of ethics through a modern and historical perspective.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to read two brief writing selections. The first article, an ethical decision-making primer, is written by John Frye, a former Ethics Table Fellow (2013-14); it is available for download. The second article is a historical text by Pierre Hadot; download the PDF. The focus in the Nov. 5 discussion will be on the text by Hadot; in a future session, attendees will look at the primer in more detail.

Anyone with ideas for topics for upcoming discussions should email Jeremy Bendik-Keymer, Beamer-Schneider Professor in Ethics, at jdb179@case.edu, or anonymously write on the chalkboard outside of Clark Hall room 310.
