Newest class of members inducted into CWRU’s Lux Chapter of Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society

Case Western Reserve University’s Lux Chapter of Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society recently inducted its newest class of members. Mortar Board selects individuals based on their distinguished ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership and service. Students are invited to apply to join Mortar Board based on their high academic standing or through nomination by faculty members. Mortar Board is one of few honor societies at CWRU and is the only honor society that welcomes students of all academic backgrounds.

This year, Mortar Board’s Lux Chapter honored President Emerita President Barbara R. Snyder with honorary membership. President Emerita Snyder was invited to join Mortar Board on the basis of her impressive career achievements in scholarship, leadership and service. President Emerita Snyder joins faculty and staff members Heath Demaree, Nancy DiIulio, Jennifer Butler, and Diana Driscoll among others as an honorary member of the chapter.

This year’s inductees consisted of third- and fourth-year students with majors ranging from nursing to computer science to history. The mean GPA of the incoming class was 3.906. Inductees were recently honored through a virtual ceremony during which they took the Mortar Board oath and discussed their planned scholarship, leadership and service activities for the coming year.
