New students: Act now—registration closes Saturday for special orientation events

Registration closes Saturday, Aug. 1, for three special orientation events that allow students to get acclimated to the city, the country and the community. Sign up on the New Student Checklist for the Discover Cleveland, Green Classroom and CWRU Connects opportunities that most pique your interest.

Discover Cleveland
Consistently among the most popular activities taking place during New Student Orientation are the Discover Cleveland excursions, which take students to favorite area locations—helping them find fun new things to do in town while learning how to get around using the RTA public transportation system.

Green Classroom
Spend some time getting to know the university farm—home to CWRU’s Farm Food Program, which, with the help of student volunteers, delivers fresh food and herbs to campus dining facilities—by signing up for The Green Classroom experience.

  • Sign up on the New Student Checklist to learn about local food and farm practices, renewable energy, green building, conservation, sustainable business, community engagement and more.

CWRU Connects
Get to know classmates and the Cleveland community by volunteering at local nonprofits. Choose from more than 40 service projects or volunteer information sessions, including sorting donations at the Cleveland Food Bank, harvesting crops at area community gardens, touring University Hospitals and more.
