Online space-reservation system expands to include classrooms

University Technology and the Office of the University Registrar have implemented a new, easier and streamlined room reservation process to manage requests for event spaces, meeting rooms and classrooms. Software from Event Management Systems (EMS), which already is in use for the university’s non-academic space needs, has expanded to also handle the University Registrar academic spaces currently served by Astra.

Now, requests to reserve University Registrar-scheduled classrooms should be submitted through the existing reservation system at case.edu/reservations.

Users will be able to see and schedule spaces campus-wide, which is not possible now with the separate systems as users must switch between them and sort through results that cannot be organized or collated together.

EMS is regarded as a reliable system with functionality, and consolidating reservation operations through it is expected to result in greater efficiency, ease of use, maximum utilization of CWRU’s spaces and cost savings.

Upcoming training sessions for end-users will be announced in The Daily.
