Master and Certificates in Compliance and Risk Management

Case Western Reserve University School of Law

To meet the growing demand for compliance and risk management officers, the School of Law has launched master’s and certificate programs to prepare professionals for careers in the field.

The only program of its kind in Ohio, the master’s-level program will position students to work with businesses to ensure they are complying with state, federal and international laws and regulations. Offered in both full-time and part-time options, this program is accepting applications for fall 2021. Students in the master’s program will complete 30 hours of course credits, including a four-credit master project or thesis. A dual degree program is available for those seeking to earn their JD and MA in compliance concurrently.

Additionally, two certificate options are available: The general certificate in compliance and risk management (15 hours of course credits) and the certificate in compliance and risk management with a specialization in healthcare (18 hours of course credits).

The GRE and LSAT are not required for admission for either option, and scholarships are available.

Leadership Excel and Achievement Program (LEAP) Certificate

Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing

For candidates wishing to enter the nursing workforce as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing now offers a Leadership Excel and Achievement Program (LEAP) Certificate. The new offering is part of the school’s Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and is offered concurrently at four affiliate institutions.

The LEAP Certificate is a pilot academic track designed to engage a wider student pool and encourage underrepresented minority students to join the field. This one-year certificate program is ideal for two types of students: those who have been previously rejected from an accredited CRNA doctoral program, or those who know their current skills and qualifications do not meet current CRNA program standards and want to become more competitive applicants.

The LEAP Certificate will equip participants with a deepened understanding of science and scholarship in the field, and the professional role of a CRNA. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates can be automatically enrolled in one of five doctoral-level CRNA programs, either at CWRU’s School of Nursing or one of its affiliate institutions.
