New parking rates set for 2014-15 academic year

Parking and Transportation Services announced new parking rates for the 2014-15 academic year. Specific rates for each lot are posted online. The new rates are effective July 1, 2014.

Case Western Reserve University’s parking program provides more than 5,000 spaces to support the needs of faculty, staff, students and visitors. The university owns 28 parking facilities. In addition, several shuttle bus routes are funded through the parking operation. These shuttles provide transportation to select outlying parking facilities.

The rate hike was deemed necessary to meet increased maintenance and operational costs; to pay for construction related to newer parking facilities; and to address ongoing deferred maintenance issues.

Faculty and staff permit holders are eligible for a pre-tax deduction of parking fees, which effectively reduces the actual rate paid compared with stated rates.
