Bon Appétit Management Co. will launch a new concept at Tomlinson Marketplace at Case Western Reserve University. Local Taco Shop will be a new option for students, faculty, staff and the public after summer break, beginning Monday, Aug. 17, and will be open weekdays for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The taco station will replace Pizza Fusion, which closed yesterday.
Local Taco Shop will feature a variety of tacos at an affordable price while using fresh, local ingredients. Beef, pork and chicken will be sourced from area farms such as New Creation Farm in Chardon, Ohio and Miller Livestock in Kinsman, Ohio.
The Local Taco Shop menu will include items like tequila- and lime-marinated and slow-roasted pulled pork tacos with salsa verde and tomatoes, and marinated portabella mushroom tacos with goat cheese, pickled slaw, tomatoes and fried onions. Tacos will cost $2.95 each and a meal—which includes three tacos, choice of side and a 20 oz. fountain drink—costs $9.50.
“We were inspired by a visit to a restaurant in Alameda, Calif., that features authentic tacos with interesting ingredients that are house-made and seasonal,” said Jim Boland, Bon Appétit’s director of operations. “We are looking forward to bringing the CWRU community our new concept.”
Free samples and tastings will be available Aug. 17-21, while supplies last. For more information about Bon Appétit at CWRU, visit case.cafebonappetit.com. Download a sample order form for Local Taco Shop.
