CWRU receives grant to give students opportunity to study abroad in Ireland

Case Western Reserve University received a $7,500 Generation Study Abroad Grant from the inaugural Institute of International Education (IIE) to support new scholarships for study abroad in Ireland. The Office of Education Abroad will match this funding, and award at least six scholarships of $2,500 each to students.

The scholarships can be used for the cost of tuition, books, and travel related to study, service learning or internships abroad between Summer 2015 and Spring 2016.

The goal of the IIE Generation Study Abroad Scholarships is to help make study abroad opportunities accessible to all students, especially those that are typically underrepresented in U.S. study abroad. IIE has selected 26 Generation Study Abroad commitment partner colleges and universities to receive its initial round of study abroad scholarships for their students. The campuses were selected based on applications they submitted describing the progress their institution has made toward its commitment and how these student scholarships will help them further increase and diversify study abroad on their campus.

The Office of Education Abroad will release information on the application process soon. Students who are interested in learning more can email studyabroad@case.edu.
