The Scientist: New fossils dating back almost 2 million years could cause a shift in thinking about man’s origins. But while anatomy professor Scott Simpson, who was not involved in the study, agreed that the fossils are “extraordinary pieces” that will play a role in how we understand human variation, he said the specimens “absolutely, positively require a very thorough and careful analysis.”
