“Networked Individualism and the Digitization of Older Adults”

The Department of Sociology will host a talk titled “Networked Individualism and the Digitization of Older Adults,” presented by Barry Wellman, co-director of the NetLab Network.

His lecture will be held Friday, Jan. 19, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center Senior Classroom.

Wellman is a leading figure in the sociology of digital technology and the Internet.  His 2013 book, Networked: The New Social Operating System, elaborates on his concept of “networked individualism.”
