The National Center for Science & Civic Engagement (SENCER) is hosting its annual Summer Institute at Case Western Reserve University Aug 1-4. There is a special CWRU registration of $350 to attend. The plenary sessions are free and open to the public.
Since 2001, SSI has provided evidence-based professional development to improve STEM learning while advancing civic awareness and responsibility. SENCER courses and programs teach rigorous disciplinary and interdisciplinary content through issues of immediate concern to students, such as climate change, public health, environmental sustainability and data security.
The plenary sessions (all held in the Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Ford Auditorium) will be:
- Today (Aug. 1) at 4:30 p.m.—Partnership Power: Learning Networks and Civic Renewal
- Friday, Aug. 2, at 9 a.m.— Partnership Power: Creating Collaborative Community Connections
- Saturday, Aug. 3, at 9 a.m.— How Asking the Right Questions Can Improve Learning and Build Civic Participation
