The Muslim Students Association at Case Western Reserve University will host “Remember Rohingya” on Saturday, March 23, to raise awareness about the Rohingya refugee situation in Myanmar.
According to the United Nations, the Rohingya people are one of the most persecuted minorities in the world, yet they get very little attention in the media. This program aims to open up a dialogue about this ethnic violence.
The event will be held in the Thwing Center ballroom at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $5 for undergraduates, $7 otherwise, with a dinner of Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine included. All proceeds will benefit Muslim Hands, a nonprofit organization dedicated to humanitarian aid with ongoing projects in Myanmar.
