Ross Duffin, the Fynette H. Kulas Professor of Music, who is long known as an authority on historical tuning systems, has been spending his 2013-14 sabbatical in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Near the end of his time in the UK, he was honored by requests to coach two of the top choirs in the world, King’s College and St. John’s College and was thrilled to work with their choral scholars on June 10.
St. John’s music director, Andrew Nethsingha, then invited Duffin to direct the music for Choral Evensong the following night, and afterwards tweeted that the service was “inspiring, revelatory, and extremely thought provoking.”
Duffin plans to return to Case Western Reserve University for fall semester.
