Scherber, assistant professor of music education and director of bands, agreed with recommendations for marching bands that include special “musician masks” that are well-fitted and incorporate a small slit for the mouthpiece or reed, covers over the bells of all instruments, performance distance of at least 6 ft., and special trays to collect any condensation produced by brass instruments.
