Monthly “Welcome Coffees” pass one-year mark—with plans to expand

As an enhancement to the onboarding of new faculty and staff members, Case Western Reserve University’s Compliance Program kicked off a monthly “Welcome Coffee” program for new faculty and staff members in October 2022.

The program has now celebrated one year of welcoming new employees to these events, during which leaders from nearly 20 key university offices and divisions—such as the Office of Research Administration and the Division of Public Safety—explain how they can help new members navigate CWRU and be successful.

“I found the variety of topics very informative,” said Ellen Glonti of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. “In my role, it is important for me to understand what each department does, where on the CWRU website to find needed information, who the contact people are, what the university policies are, and what trainings are available for employees to take.”

Considering the positive feedback from “Welcome Coffee” attendees, the university will expand the program to include existing and longtime faculty and staff members who would like to attend.
