Rick Bischoff, vice president for enrollment management, recently announced that Mike Collins has been named director of university financial aid at Case Western Reserve University.
Collins has been with CWRU for 13 years. Working initially as an admissions counselor for the Office of Undergraduate Admission, he transitioned to the Office of University Financial Aid in 2012, where he previously worked as a student employee.
“What was most exciting to me in interviewing Mike for this role were the new ideas he has for how we can serve our students even better. He brings a tremendous work ethic to whatever task is at hand and shows great care for his colleagues and all CWRU students,” said Bischoff.
Collins has served as deputy director of financial aid and was appointed interim director of financial aid in September last year. He has played a vital role in overseeing university-wide financial aid operations, helping demystify financial aid for families by educating them on the tools and processes available at CWRU.
As the director of university financial aid, Collins will continue to provide leadership and strategic direction for financial aid in order to help students apply for financial support.
“I look forward to continuing our tireless efforts to set students up for success—both during and after their time at CWRU,” said Collins.
A lifelong Clevelander and a CWRU alumnus, Collins earned his Bachelor of Arts in chemistry with a minor in history. During his time as a student, Collins played varsity football, sang in the gospel choir, and was involved in a variety of other groups and organizations.
