Michael Scharf discusses Libya’s decision to try Gaddafi’s son

Libya vows it, not ICC, will try Saif, Senussi

Reuters: Libya says its courts will hold the trial of Muammar Gaddafi’s son, which would defy the International Criminal Court. “The easiest thing for them is just to surrender them to the international tribunal—they’d get all sorts of kudos, the international community would applaud them for doing so and then if they want they could have trials of people at a lower level,” said Michael Scharf, director of the Frederick K. Cox International Law Center.
