Mentor a doctoral student

The Doctoral Professional Mentoring Program has been moved back under Women in Science and Humanities Earning Doctorates (WISHED). The program pairs women-aligned doctoral students with professionals based on their career fields (i.e., STEM, social sciences, humanities, arts, etc.).

Members of the community are invited to apply to be a mentor. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Oct. 6, at 5 p.m. Individuals are also encouraged to share the invitation with others who may be interested in serving as a mentor.

Mentors are expected to meet with their mentee about once a month in whatever format works best for them. There also  are two large events::

  • Professional Mentoring Orientation: Oct. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women
  • WISER and Mentoring Banquet: April 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linsalata Alumni Center

Mentor-mentee pairs will be made immediately after the application deadline, with introductions made via email by Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.
