Memorial service to be held Oct. 6 in honor of emeritus professor Wilma J. Phipps

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, to honor the life of Wilma J. Phipps, emeritus professor of the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. Phipps passed away this summer at the age of 87.

Phipps was a valued faculty member and student mentor at the School of Nursing for nearly two decades. She will be remembered for her dedication to the profession and her leadership in medical-surgical nursing at the school, University Hospitals of Cleveland and beyond.

The memorial will take place Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Covenant. There will be a reception to follow in the church hall.
