Meet the Class of 2016 by leading common reading breakout sessions at orientation

Looking to connect with the incoming first-year students—and to find a nice summer reading book with a positive message? Sign up today to lead a common reading breakout session during new student orientation!

The Office of First Year Experience is looking for faculty and staff members to help lead the annual common reading breakout sessions. The breakout sessions are small (20-25 student) groups meant to delve deeper into the common reading book (The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba) while allowing the students to engage with faculty and staff members. The breakout sessions are scheduled for Aug. 24 from 3 to 4 p.m. Each will last about 45 minutes.

All discussion leaders will receive a copy of the book as well as some suggested discussion prompts.

Staff and faculty members across all disciplines are encouraged to sign up online.
