Trump casts psychiatric and weight-loss drugs as threats to children
The Washington Post: Max Wiznitzer, professor at the School of Medicine, defended the effectiveness of stimulants with rare side effects but criticized the Trump administration’s review of psychiatric and weight-loss drugs for framing their use as a “threat.” Awais Aftab, clinical assistant professor at the School of Medicine, said there are legitimate questions surrounding proper use of psychiatric drugs in children because of side effects, limited data on long-term use and evidence that SSRIs are less effective in young people.
