What is the ACE test, and why more doctors should use it for prenatal care
Parents: LuLu Zhao, assistant professor at the School of Medicine, described how she views the ACE test—or adverse childhood experiences test—as a multi-purpose screening tool, but does not use it for specific conditions. “[The ACE test results] can provide a better understanding of the psychosocial history and needs of our patient population as a whole, a more dimensional understanding of the individual patient, and a way to introduce a trauma-informed dimension into medical care,” she said.
