Med’s Adam Perzynski and Salil Deo discuss their study about redlining and heart disease

Study shows veterans in redlined neighborhoods have higher risk of heart disease
WEWSAdam Perzynski, an associate professor in medicine and sociology, discussed “redlining” when talking about a study by colleagues at the School of Medicine, University Hospitals and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center that found U.S. military veterans who lived in redlined areas had significantly higher rates of cardiovascular disease and mortality. Salil Deo, an associate professor of surgery at the School of Medicine and an author on the study, described the results.
