Kelvin Smith Library will host a public talk by Eric J. Johnson of Ohio State University Library about the importance of looking at manuscript fragments as physical objects.
Johnson will present Medieval Manuscripts Matter Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the library’s Dampeer Room (205).
Johnson will model ways to look at fragments and make them meaningful.
This event is part of Octavofest.
After the event, several items relating to medieval manuscripts will be on view in the Special Collections Hatch Reading Room.
Light refreshments will be provided.
