Robert Bonomo, professor of Medicine, was selected to give the Maxwell Finland Lecture, which is awarded annually to experts who have contributed to the areas of bacterial pathogenesis, antimicrobial agents, emerging infections and hospital-acquired infections.
The lecture is named in honor of the Infectious Diseases Society of America’s first president, who was internationally recognized for his work on the incidence and character of infectious diseases and their treatments.
Bonomo presented “b-lactamase inhibitors: advancements, opportunities and challenges” in October during IDWeek 2024.
